A Must stop during your visit to jean-Talon market

Marché des saveurs QcThis charming Jean-Talon Market store has an impressive variety of local Quebec products (over 7000 references)! Whether you are traveling to Montreal or not , stopping at Marché des Saveurs is obligatory! You will discover wonders, as the two products that I personally appreciate the cidrerie du Minot.

For nearly 150 years , the cider flows in life and in the veins of the Demoy family. Passionate about cider production, Robert and Joelle Demoy leave their native Britain in the late 1970s to settle in Quebec and thus found the Cidrerie du Minot in Hemmingford in 1987.

Inspired by traditional Brittany techniques, Cidrerie du Minot product for nearly thirty years superior ciders and combines national and international recognitions.

Their ice cider is currently discounted to -50 % until the stocks for 2010 and 2011 vintages and it is absolutely delicious. $ 17.40 instead of $ 34.80.

So hurry!

Their apple sparkling wine is excellent! To drink without moderation during your summer aperitifs (only 2.5 % of alcohol !!) In addition to this price, why deprive … on sale at $ 9.85 the bottle.

The mission had given Suzanne Bergeron Drouin and Tony, the owners, is to make you discover the artisan food products of small producers of Quebec. Passionates by regional food Quebec and driven by the desire to share it, they started the adventure in 1998 at Maisonneuve Market, then with a counter to the Atwater and Jean-Talon markets in 1999 .

With their success, the Procurement Management Corporation of Montreal offered them a rent space permanently at Jean-Talon market. So it is in July 2000 that the Marché des Saveurs (Quebec Flavors Market) opened its doors!

Open daily from 9 am to 18 hours nightly special on Thursdays and Fridays up to 20 hours .

On weekends , you’ll generally the opportunity to meet some producers in the shop that you will taste their products. Think to ” like ” their Facebook page to keep you informed .

It is also possible to book in advance for a guided tasting of cider and cheese ($ 7 per person).

I wish you lots of fun,

Valerie Signature
