Take Five & Les Romains
There is a Jazz Festival here in Montreal. It makes me think about Dave Brubeck with his famous song “Take Five”. In the vocal version, Carmen McRae sings, “won’t you stop and take a little time out with me, just take five, stop your busy day and take the time out to see if I’m alive.”Won’t you stop for a moment and have a glass of this unique Sancerre ‘Les Romains’ from Domaine Vacheron, vintage 2010, and check out if it is still alive?
I would definitely say, “Yes!”
This Sancerre is amazing. It is a 100% sauvignon blanc made in an organic and biodynamic way. This wine comes from a mix of flint and chalk soils in the heart of Sancerre. On the nose are grapefruit zest and gunflint; on the palate it is pure and fresh with plenty of mineral energy and citrus flavours!
This wonderful Sancerre is clean and limpid with lots of freshness and lovely energy.
Have some more while enjoying Take Five!
I would recommend fried scallops or a great lobster with some green vegetables. The wine by itself is good too…
